The Summit will help you “get local” with actionable strategies, practical tools and tactics, and impactful connections. The agenda is filled with people who are “in the trenches” doing the work right now
and who are committed to bringing tried and true strategies to help solve communities’ toughest problems.
Hosted by the Center for Civic Engagement and Strong Towns, the Civic Leader Summit will equip civic leaders, public officials, business owners, nonprofit changemakers, and active residents with the tools to create communities that are vibrant, resilient, and thriving.
With a focus on local solutions to national challenges, attendees will learn proven strategies for:
Revitalizing downtowns
Attracting and retaining talent
Inspiring investment and entrepreneurship
Supporting smart growth and small-scale development
The summit will feature dynamic presentations, engaging breakout sessions, and opportunities to collaborate with some of the nation’s most influential community builders, including Quint Studer and Chuck Marohn.

The Women in Science Conference is a celebration of women in all STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) professions. Hosted by the Emerald Coast Science Center and Modern Technology Solutions, Inc., the evening will consist of inspirational presentations from professional women in STEM careers followed by a panel discussion where the audience can engage with speakers and ask questions.

All ages are welcome, especially middle school and high school students looking to discover careers in STEM. Guests will have a chance to mingle with the speakers and other guest professionals. This is an excellent event for all those looking to explore STEM opportunities right here in Okaloosa. Light refreshments provided.

Hear from accomplished women in STEM as they share the experiences, challenges, lessons, and breakthroughs that shaped their careers, and discover how you can create your own path in science, technology, engineering, and math. All speakers will be a part of a panel discussion toward the end of the event to take questions from the audience. This is an excellent event for students of all ages and genders to receive firsthand advice and information from local STEM professionals.

Parents, need an easy weeknight plan for your middle schooler? We’ve got you covered! Our Science Social: Middle School Edition is a free, drop-off event for ages 11-14. Kids get pizza, soda, and STEM fun.

Who: Ages 11-14 (drop-off only) // Cost: FREE

Middle schoolers, this one’s just for you! Come take over the museum after hours for a night of hands-on science, exploring the exhibits, hanging out with friends, and meeting some of our coolest animals. And because no social is complete without food, we’ve got you covered with plenty of pizza and drinks.

Best of all, it’s free and drop-off only, so parents can take a break while kids dive into science. People's Law School returns for its second free educational session on Monday, September 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Held on Monday nights in September following Labor Day, this long-running community program hosted by Levin Papantonio helps make the law easier to understand through practical, real-world information presented by experienced attorneys. Learn about legal topics that may affect your everyday life in a welcoming environment. Everyone is welcome, no legal experience is required, and attendance is free.

Join Levin Papantonio for the final session of the 2026 People's Law School on Monday, September 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Held on Monday nights in September following Labor Day, this free community education series has helped Pensacola-area residents better understand their legal rights before they ever need a lawyer for more than 16 years. Because an informed community is a safer, stronger community, these classes are designed to provide practical knowledge that anyone can use. The event is free, open to the public, and no legal background is required.

The very first Survivor Advocacy Center for survivors of human trafficking. This event will bring providers and survivors together, with public support, to raise awareness and provide intervention opportunities for identified victims. Human Trafficking and Trauma-Informed Care Trainings, life skill workshops, and a safe place to heal are the focus programs at the Survivor Landing Space

While visiting Germany, Yehuda Hyman witnessed disrespect at a Holocaust Memorial. What began as one quiet act to restore its dignity grew into a community movement that returned the memorial to its true purpose—honoring Holocaust victims and reminding us that such atrocities must never happen again.
