The Pensacola Museum of Art Guild invites you to an inspiring morning with acclaimed portrait artist, Jeff Bass, as he shares the stories behind his remarkable paintings. Enjoy lunch while helping support the Pensacola Museum of Art. Proceeds from this event support the Youth Art Focus and the scholarship fund for the children's art programs, providing many children with their first exposure to a museum and to the visual arts.

Jeff has painted such dignitaries as George H.W. Bush, Governor Jeb Bush, former Secretary of State George Shultz, to name a few. His work's are represented in the US House of Representatives, the Smithsonian, the CIA and our own National Aviation Museum, to name a few.

Join the University of West Florida and Reubin O’D. Askew Department of Government on Thursday, September 17, to commemorate Constitution Day with a series of lectures and public forums.

The noon lecture features Paul R. DeHart, professor of political science at Texas State University. DeHart will present Is There No Virtue Among Us?: Interest, Ambition, and the Common Good in the Framers’ Constitutional Design, exploring the motivations that shaped the creation of the Constitution in the University Commons Conference Ballroom.

Guests are invited to continue the conversation at 3 p.m. when DeHart joins James Hankins (University of Florida) for Federalists or Anti-Federalists: The Verdict After 250 Years, a public forum in the University Commons Conference Ballroom.

At 6:30 p.m., join UWF again for The Constitution and the Western Republican Tradition, a lecture by Hankins at Voices of Pensacola.

The University of West Florida Dr. Grier Williams School of Music will present The Tu Masters Piano Duo, performing “AS ONE: Celebrating Great Piano Duos of the Past” on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026. The concert will be held in the Rolfs Music Hall at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts on the UWF Pensacola campus.

In this vivacious and engaging program, duo-pianists Richard Masters and Hsiang Tu celebrate five great piano duos of the past: Guy Maier and Lee Pattison, Harold Bauer and Ossip Gabrilowitsch, Myra Hess and Irene Scharrer, Beryl Rubinstein and Arthur Loesser, and Abram Chasins and Constance Keene. These unusual selections do not appear on most modern programs yet represent a significant contribution to the duo repertoire.

Richard Masters is a pianist and opera coach/conductor based in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he is associate professor of piano and collaborative piano at Virginia Tech's School of Performing Arts. He has collaborated with Grammy-winning baritone Donnie Ray Albert and flutist Valerie Coleman, and he has performed under the baton of the late Lorin Maazel. Recent performances include the appearances at the English Music Festival in Oxfordshire, American Cathedral in Paris and Nixon Library in California. Chicago Tribune critic Howard Reich named his Albany Records disc of American art songs as one of the “best classical recordings of 2020.” A Yamaha Artist, Masters holds degrees from Eastman, Juilliard and the University of Colorado.

Hsiang Tu has been an assistant professor of piano at the University of Florida since 2022. During that time, he has released two albums, including a recording of the complete works for solo piano by Maurice Ravel in January 2026. Last fall alone, he performed and gave masterclasses in Croatia, Peru, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. Born and raised in Taipei, Tu moved to the United States as a teenager and earned a BM degree from the University of Calgary and MM and DMA from The Juilliard School. He enjoys building Lego sets and playing video games in his spare time.

The Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup Day is September 19th and we are celebrating by holding another multi-beach cleanup on the same day from 8:00 – 10:00am with fun games, prizes, free t-shirts and free breakfast at participating restaurants/locations! Join PPBEP and Artist Angelica Tilton of Possum & Palmetto for an exploration of natural pigments and how to use them to paint your own original artwork inspired by Gulf Coast wildlife!

In the natural setting of Bruce Beach in downtown Pensacola, participants will learn how to harness the colors of various plants and clays to celebrate our connection with the natural world. No previous artistic experience is necessary to participate in this workshop. All are welcome!

This event will be held outdoors; participants are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for comfortable seating. This workshop is designed for adults and older teens and may not be suitable for younger children.

Join PPBEP and Disko Lemonade and relax into the tranquil beauty of Bruce Beach and enjoy scenic views of Pensacola Bay as you move through a yoga flow designed for all skill levels. Between poses, discover why estuaries are important and how we can work together to protect them.

People's Law School returns for its second free educational session on Monday, September 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Held on Monday nights in September following Labor Day, this long-running community program hosted by Levin Papantonio helps make the law easier to understand through practical, real-world information presented by experienced attorneys. Learn about legal topics that may affect your everyday life in a welcoming environment. Everyone is welcome, no legal experience is required, and attendance is free.
