On 11 November 2025, The Wreaths Across America will be coming to Pensacola for 4 consecutive days.
November 11th at Veterans Memorial ParkNovember 12th at Mission BBQ on 9th AvenueNovember 13 & 14th at the Veterans Clinic on HWY 98
The mission is to teach the community why we Honor the Veterans and their Families with Veterans Wreaths every 2nd Saturday in December at Barrancas National Cemetery on NAS Pensacola.
We have this Honor because the Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon was named Number 1 in the US as the Non-Profit that put more memorial Wreaths on a National Cemetery than over 4009 other Non-Profit Groups. We are so proud to Honor, Remember, and Teach the Children of our community the sacrifices of Veterans and Families.

A gathering of former and present caregivers of family loved ones thru the various stages of the different dementias. Purpose is to share possible solutions, techniques, and exterior sources of assistance with each other from our personal experiences.
The UWF College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities invites you to join us on Thursday, November 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a public reception at 5:30 p.m. at the Museum of Commerce in downtown Pensacola for the third installment of this year’s Gulf Coast Culture Series: Pensacola Noir, Murder, She Investigates.
Dr. Allysha Winburn, a biological anthropologist specializing in forensic and bioarchaeological research, and Dr. Cate Bird, missing persons and forensic manager for the International Committee of the Red Cross (United States and Canada), will examine the lasting cultural impact of the television series “Murder, She Wrote.”
The discussion will explore how the show shaped public fascination with forensic evidence and influenced popular understandings of crime-solving. Drawing on their own expertise, Winburn and Bird will connect the fictional world of Jessica Fletcher to the realities of forensic anthropology, investigative work, and human rights, revealing how cultural narratives intersect with science and justice.
"In the final days of the 2025 session, Florida lawmakers quietly passed Senate Bill 180 — a bill described as hurricane relief but packed with sweeping restrictions on local planning. It freezes local governments’ ability to adopt stronger land-use and development rules for years, even if those rules have nothing to do with storm recovery. Communities are already seeing long-planned growth protections overturned. SB 180 strips local governments of their ability to protect residents, manage flooding, and guide growth — and it must be fixed in 2026."
Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM CT / 7:00 PM ET. Join us as we welcome Guest Speaker Kim Dinkins, Policy and Planning Director, 1000 Friends of Florida, who will provide a general overview of SB180 and the implications it has for our communities, followed by what we can expect to see in the 2026 legislative session with regards to the bill - i.e., amendments to the original language, etc.
