  • Pieces Adrift is an art show and silent auction that takes an interactive approach to educating our community on the beauty of upcycling and the dangers of litter and pollution in our waterways.

    Each piece displayed at the exhibition is comprised of at least 50% trash, litter or secondhand materials and made by local artists of all levels! All proceeds benefit Keep Pensacola Beautiful’s programming initiatives for the upcoming year.

    Tickets include a sampling of heavy hors d'oeuvres, one complimentary beverage ticket, and entrance into the art show.

  • Shalimar United Methodist Church, LIBERTY Dental Plan of Florida, and other community partners invite elementary, middle, and high school students to the Back-to-School Drive-By on Sunday, Aug. 1, from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

    The event is free and includes backpacks, school supplies, and food giveaways. LIBERTY Dental Plan will give out free dental kits and information to help keep young smiles healthy and bright.

    FORT WALTON BEACH, FL – Wednesday, Oct. 6 – Fort Walton Beach welcomes WAA Mobile Education Exhibit from 9:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. This event is presented by Emerald Coast Wreaths Across America FL0832 and will take place at 135 Perry Avenue SE (Union Fidelity Bank).The goal of the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit is to bring local communities and our military together with education, stories and interactive connections.

    The 48’ exhibit is equipped with a 24-person screening room that showcases the different aspects of the WAA mission through video. To the front of the exhibit there are three interactive computers to showcase locations, trucking supporters, and general wreath sponsorship questions. Also, in the front is an education wall of information on the different areas of WAA and where the mission will be going in years to come.

    The purpose of the Mobile Education Exhibit is to not only Teach the next generation about service and sacrifice, but to share stories of patriotism and love of country to communities around the United States.

  • Native plants bring hope to rural and urban landscapes as they provide habitat for pollinators, absorb stormwater and pollutants and create natural beauty. Join Lizzy Jenny of the Florida Native Plant Society as she shares the many benefits of natives and the challenges facing native plant communities in adapting to shifts in temperature and rainfall due to climate change.

    Lizzy Jenny is president of the Longleaf Pine Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society. She is herself a native of Southern Maryland and studied biology at the College of Charleston and received a Masters degree in Sustainable Landscape Design from George Washington University. She has worked with the University of Maryland’s Center for Environmental Science as a faculty research assistant, as an environmental consultant with HDR architecture and engineering firm, and most recently as a civilian with the US Navy.
  • Two day annual coin show. Saturday, January 15. 2022 9am-5pm and Sunday, January 16 9am-3pm. Admission to the show is free and open to the public.

    There is space for 36 tables where dealers will be buying and selling US and international coins, currency, and other numismatic items. Not sure what "numismatics" is? Come and find out and enjoy the interaction with others with similar interests. The South Baldwin Numismatic Society exists to promote coin collecting to all ages and present history through numismatics.

    The club meets at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Foley Public Library. Meetings are open to the public.
  • The Mahabhuta Yoga VegFest celebrates vegan faire, yoga, dance, breath, meditation, nature, music, art, and community. Enjoy the outdoors; visiting the eclectic vegan food vendors from all over the country, artisan village, music concerts, Galactic Child Yoga tent, Flow Arts presenters and performers, while perusing the Roots to Wings art installations. We are leading the way to facilitate Zero Waste festivals.

    The Mahabhuta Yoga Festival’s mission is to celebrate yoga, elevate consciousness, unite communities, create abundance & inspire greatness. Pensacola VegFest is a celebration of compassionate living. We are joining together to celebrate our mission of ahimsa to promote peace, nonviolence and respect for all our relations including the four legged, the two legged, the finned, the furred, the winged ones, the stone people, and the plant people.

    The festival is featuring over 40 vegan food vendors, 50 yoga, music, and flow arts presenters and 20 art vendors at the new Bayview Community Center and 30 acre Park in East Hill on Bayou Texar. Pensacola is an ideal central location for an epic adventure by road or air with an international airport offering direct flights. Pensacola and its’ Emerald Coast is known for its natural beauty, pristine beaches, lively downtown, and Southern charm.

  • The University of West Florida Department of Theatre presents Shakespeare in Love based on the screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard, adapted for the stage by Lee Hall with music by Paddy Cunneen. Performances will be held Oct. 29-31 and Nov. 5-7 with shows at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. All performances will take place in the Mainstage Theatre of the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Building 82, on the UWF Pensacola Campus.

    Young Will Shakespeare has writer's block and is late in finishing his most recent play “Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate’s Daughter”. He is in desperate need of inspiration until he finds his muse – Viola, a beautiful young woman who wants nothing more than to perform onstage, where women are not permitted.

    Set amidst a bustling background of mistaken identity, ruthless scheming and backstage theatrics, Will and Viola’s love blossoms and their passionate, forbidden love affair goes on to inspire Shakespeare’s masterpiece, the most romantic tragedy ever written.

    Director Christine Kellogg leads the creative team consisting of current students and alumni Brittney Barton, set designer; Kristen Taylor, costume designer; Cole Hudson, wig and makeup designer; and Kelley Finn, lighting designer (’12).

    General Admission ticket prices are $18 per person for adults, $14 per person for senior citizens and active military, $12 per person for non-UWF students and UWF faculty and staff, and $6 for high school students. UWF students are admitted free with their Nautilus cards. Reserved seats can be purchased for a $2 upcharge.
