Have you ever thought about using your bicycle to get to some of your daily needs? Replacing some daily car trips with a bicycle ride is one of the best ways to see and experience your community in a healthier and more enjoyable way. Join longtime Pensacola bike commuter Jon Spears as he shares how to turn your bicycle into a self-contained commuter bike, whether heading to work or to the neighborhood store.

Learn about mirrors, bells, racks, locks, storage bags, clothing, and riding tips that allow you to arrive safely and comfortably on any type of bicycle. Participants are encouraged to bring their bicycle to the class to get hands-on advice specific to their bicycle.

The 14-member Pensacola Early Music Consort will be joined by guest musicians from across the southeast to give Pensacola and the surrounding area a taste of a Renaissance Orchestra. Come hear recorder players performing Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Celtic, and modern compositions for early instruments.

Baseball will be playing on the Jim Spooner Field. Softball will be playing on the UWF Softball Complex. Free admission to all games

Join UWF Digital Archives and UWF Historic Trust on Thursday, April 10th from 11am - 1pm to transcribe handwritten letters from our digital collections for National Library Week! We will use the crowdsourcing transcription site From the Page to make first-hand accounts of history more accessible by creating searchable text for primary sources. Your collaboration will help researchers find unique primary sources related to Pensacola’s past, including pages from the Mallory Manuscripts, the log of the U.S. Frigate Sabina, and the Pensacola Navy Yard. The hybrid event will be held online and also inside John C. Pace Library's classroom (123).

Everyone is welcome! No transcribing experience necessary, but free registration with From the Page is required for participation. UWF librarians and archivists will be on hand to answer questions and provide technical assistance. The Sanctuary Choir of First Presbyterian Church will present the Durufle Requiem on Sunday evening, April 6, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the sanctuary. They will be joined by full orchestra and singers from area churches.

The event is free, with free parking and childcare for children up to six years of age.
