"Race to the Rhein" World War II History and Reenactment Weekend
The drama, history, heroism and excitement of World War II explode in Crestview's Spanish Trail Park over Labor Day weekend when the Crestview Cultural Services Division and its Living History Corps present "Race to the Rhein," a weekend of war education and reenactment. Visit Allied and Axis encampments, marvel at war-era vehicles, tour the onsite World War II museum, thrill to battle scenario reenactments, and observe demonstrations and talks with reenactors. Swing to the big band sounds of a live orchestra Saturday night, punctuated with schtick from World War II USO show scripts, and bow your head during Sunday's nondenominational church field service, conducted from a 1940s chaplain's manual. It's all free, even the onsite parking. Call 850.398.4549 for more information.
