Our “For the Love of Gardening” event, sponsored by the Pensacola Federation of Garden Clubs, is scheduled for February 13, 2024, at the Pensacola Garden Center. It begins at 8:00 AM with Truth Mobile Sharpening and continues with registration, refreshments, and a free book selection. The day is packed with sessions by six notable speakers including a Master Gardener, a floral designer. the Florida Federation of Garden clubs president, and representatives from the Escambia and Santa Rosa County Extension offices covering topics from historical gardeners to practical gardening techniques. Attendees can also learn about water conservation, hydroponic gardening, and appreciating natural beauty in gardens. A native plant sale concludes the event.

Additional features include a mobile sharpening service by Pedro Luis and a sale of native plants by Ashley Moore’s Native Plant Company. The registration fee of $25 includes lunch, snacks, beverages, and handouts. Attendees are encouraged to bring tools for sharpening and to explore the gardening book collection donated to the event. The deadline for registration is February 1, 2024.
