Life on the Line: Pensacola's Red Light District 1870-1941
A thriving port, sailors, lumber and railroad workers and others with more prestigious jobs gave rise to a large number of bars and brothels in downtown Pensacola. So much so that "respectable women" didn't go south of Government St. The red light district flourished for over 70 years.
Dr. Norm Haines will present a lecture on this seldom discussed but fascinating part of Pensacola's history.
