  • AESOP’S FABLES July 16 - 25, 2021 Acorn Slow and steady wins the race… join the Tortoise and the Hare at the finish line in this fast-paced, action-packed retelling of four of Aesop’s Fables.


    As the troupe of actors become the Rabbit, the Turtle, the Fox, the Crow, or the Donkey, the kids of all ages will be drawn into the action of the play. Four of Aesop’s best loved fables . . . “The Fox and the Crow,” “The Tortoise and the Hare,” “The Donkey in the Lion’s Skin,” and finally, “The Fox and the Sour Grapes,” are delightfully created in this engaging approach to storyteller’s theatre.

  • A timeless work, the rock opera is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally-known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.

    Loosely based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Superstar follows the last week of Jesus Christ's life. The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire.
  • The Pensacola State College Student Affairs and Student Services Offices on the Pensacola campus will be open 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 17, to help new and returning and potential students.

    The Cashiers Office also will be open to process payments or provide payment information. The event will include free giveaways and food.

    College staff will be on hand to answer questions, assist with applying for college, accept necessary paperwork to complete financial aid files, help with the scholarship application, meet with an advisor to register for classes, schedule any testing, and learn more about preparing for the first day of classes.

    Registration is ongoing for the fall semester. Fall sessions A and B begin Monday, Aug. 16. Fall semester options include: • Session A: Aug. 16 – Dec.10 • Session B: Aug. 16 ¬– Oct. 11 • Session C: Sept. 7– Dec. 10 • Session D: Oct. 12 – Dec. 10.

  • Join us for the Pensacola Archaeological Society Virtual Lecture: "The Perfect Storm: Why Spain Abandoned Florida" by Pensacola State College Professor of History, Dr. Brain Rucker!

    The Pensacola Archaeological Society Lecture Series is a free online series that features a short presentation by an archaeologist via Zoom and an opportunity for participants to ask questions at the end of the presentation (duration is about one hour and a half total). Space is limited, however, and a password will be required for access.

  • Calling all Escambia County high school graduates of the 2020 and 2021 school years!


    TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) will host FAFSA Nights at the main PSC Pensacola Campus, Building 5, Computer Lab Room 509 Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. on June 29, July 13, July 20 and July 27. EOC Student Services Specialists will be on site to provide free, expert assistance with completing the FAFSA.


    Escambia County graduates of the 2020 and 2021 graduating classes will receive a $20 gift card and application fee waivers if applying to PSC. If you have any questions or concerns regarding FAFSA Night events, please contact the main EOC office at 850-484-1961 or email eoc@pensacolastate.edu.
  • The 2021 Firecracker 5k is held in historic downtown Pensacola and benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida. The race starts and ends at Seville Quarter and invites both runners and walkers to join the fun. Celebrate our Fourth of July themed race by wearing your red, white, and blue! Following the 5k is the Kids Fun Run. Don't forget to grab a cold drink after the race and pick up your finisher's medal!
  • This year’s Bud Light Fishing Rodeo will take place July 23 – 26, 2021. The weigh in is at Flounders on Pensacola Beach on Saturday from 2p-7p and Sunday from noon-6p. Cash awards and prizes await the angler who weighs in the top three fish in 21 different species. In addition to the rodeo, there is the Step One Automotive King Mackerel Challenge and In-Shore Challenge with separate buy-in and cash and prizes awarded to the boat that brings in the biggest king mackerel and in-shore slam. There is also the Outcast Tackle and Marine Youth Rodeo and the Academy Sports and Outdoors Junior Rodeo. The 2021 InShore Challenge boundaries will include fishing between the west boundary, Highway 59 bridge in Gulf Shores Alabama, to the east boundary, the Mid-Bay Bridge in Destin Florida. All anglers are subject to a polygraph to verify catch in boundary.
