  • The Downs Law Group (DLG), a Miami-based law firm committed to fighting for victims of the Deepwater Horizon BP oil spill, is hosting a free Town Hall June 3–5, 2022 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Those who suffer from cancer or chronic illnesses and think they may have been harmed by the 2010 BP oil spill are encouraged to attend. This includes adults and children, members of the U.S. Coast Guard, clean-up workers, volunteers, and more.

DLG Lead Attorney David Durkee will be in attendance, along with a team of legal assistants, to speak with those participating. Attendees can have one-on-one discussions with Durkee, who will share information regarding their rights pertaining to the 2010 BP oil spill. Most importantly, Durkee and his team want to emphasize that it’s not too late to come forward and have these conversations and that victims still have legal recourse.

“Many victims of the 2010 BP oil spill don’t realize that they have been harmed,” said Durkee. “Those suffering from chronic illnesses, who think these illnesses are a result of the oil spill, should strongly consider attending the Town Hall event.”

Daily Town Halls will take place from 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with presentations at the top of every hour. The last presentation will begin at 5 p.m. Lunch will be served.

The event will be held at The Holiday Inn Express Gulf Shores, 160 W. Commerce Ave., Gulf Shores, Alabama 36542.

Space is limited for this free event. Those interested in attending may call or text “BP” to (305) 444-8226 or RSVP at www.bpclaimoilspill.com to secure their spot.

Over the last decade, The Downs Law Group has been fighting for victims of the Deepwater Horizon BP Oil Spill in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. Among those affected include adults and children who lived just outside the heavily oiled zones, attended work or school in these zones, or even swam in the Gulf and its tributaries when the oil and chemical dispersant levels were the most dangerous.
