    We are hosting our largest and most exciting day of Respite yet! The community is invited to join us for a day of games, music, and special guests, all themed around our beautiful city. This will be a celebration of all things Pensacola, featuring music from the Blue Anchor Belles and a meal from the iconic Dog House Deli. Join us for a fun filled day to learn more about how to get involved with this exciting ministry.

    First Church Respite Ministry is dedicated to fostering a compassionate community for individuals living with dementia and providing vital support for their caregivers. Through fellowship, education, and respite services, we aim to promote meaningful connections, ensuring that every individual experiences love, respect, and joy as they navigate life with dementia.
    What we offer:
    Heartfelt connection: Build relationships, bring joy and companionship to those living with dementia.
    Flexible opportunities: Whether you can spare an hour a week, four hours a day, or just once a month, your time is invaluable and there is a place for you at Respite!
    Training and support: Because we are a social program, no medical training is needed. Our team will provide training and tools you need to make the most of your time with our friends.
  • Join Make-A-Wish Northwest Region of Florida for a charity fashion show to benefit Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida. Hosted by Watersound Fountains, a vibrant senior living community in Inlet Beach, the event will feature local seniors and residents of the community modeling clothes from nearby stores, including J. McLaughlin in Watersound.

    During the event, attendees will learn more about Make-A-Wish and hear from a local Wish Alumni and her family as they share their story and wish experience. Proceeds will support Make-A-Wish Northwest Region of Florida as they create life-changing wishes for local children battling critical illnesses. Reception begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by the fashion show at 6:00 p.m.
  • Join Earth Action, the League of Women Voters of the Pensacola Bay Area, Rethink Energy of Florida, Clean Energy for All, Northwest Florida Panhandle Coalition For Civic Engagement, and Escambia County Democratic Party on Monday, May 12th from 6 pm - 7:30 pm at Ever'man Educational Center, 327 W Garden St, Pensacola, FL 32502-4729.

    We will take a deep dive into what this means for you and our community. We will address how you can get engaged and provide prompts (talking points) for those wanting to speak at the upcoming Public Service Commission meetings. Finally, learn about how programs such as Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) are being gutted and not available for those struggling to pay their bills.

    Volunteer with us to help construct Vertical Oyster Gardens (VOGs) out of oyster shell recycled from Pensacola Beach restaurants!

    VOGs are suspended structures built out of recycled oyster shell that can hang from docks to provide a surface for oysters to grow on.

    Once oysters start growing on a VOG, they can enhance water filtration, create habitat for other marine life, and reproduce to support our oyster populations across the bay!

    All ages are welcome to participate. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Any volunteers that are 17 years old and participating on their own must bring a completed waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
  • 4th Annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Rally & Ride

    Join us for a powerful day of remembrance, community, and support at the 4th Annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Rally & Ride in honor of Baylie Brunner. The event features a memorial motorcycle ride (Jeeps & classic cars welcome), a wish delivery to children at Studer Family Children’s Hospital, and a family-friendly after-party with live music, food, raffles, games, vendors, and more.

    Proceeds benefit Rally Foundation Pensacola, supporting local families facing childhood cancer.

  • The City of Pensacola is hosting the second annual “Party in the Park” – a 2-day event adjacent to Hollice T. Williams Park to promote community engagement for the Hollice T. Williams Park design process.

    The first Saturday will be a community BBQ where there will be a community stage with a DJ, art vendors, and food trucks.

    The first 100 people at the event will receive a free meal. Additionally, we will have a local mural artist who will guide the community in completing a community mural, which will be temporarily installed in Hollice T. Williams Park. Please come join us for the family fun!

    The event is sponsored by East Kings Corner Cafe, Upward Intuition, and Bike Pensacola.

    At 6pm, we will have a 5k Slowride hosted by Bike Pensacola around Hollice T. Williams Park.

    Additionally, we will have a local muralist leading a community mural that will be installed temporarily in Hollice T. Williams Park.

    The first 100 people get a free meal, and there will be a prize raffle for a skate deck conducted by Upward Intuition.

    Saxophonist Antoine Knight - After coming off his big hit singles, like " Something About You", "Infatuation"," and, "The Drive on 285", Antoine Knight latest release " Step 2 Me Baby " got pick up on 9 BILLBOARD Smooth Jazz Stations. This music is filled with a soulful groove that will get you moving you out on the dance. Antoine is a highly recognized recording artist who's climbing his way up on the Smooth Jazz Charts. Antoine has shared the stage with jazz music icon Boney James at the Gulf Coast Jazz Festival in Pensacola, Florida.

    The Guitarist to the Stars - JJ Sansaverina - New York guitarist JJ Sansaverino has achieved significant acclaim with five albums, over 50 annual live performances, a #1 Billboard hit, and numerous charting songs over three decades. Known for his unique "Benson meets Santana" style, he blends Smooth Jazz, Blues, R&B, and Reggae. A Berklee School of Music graduate, JJ has performed with artists like Maceo Parker and even played at Sir Paul McCartney's wedding. He is currently touring internationally through 2024-2025 to promote his album “Soul Energy” and celebrate hits like “Keep It Moving.” Collaborating with Maxi Priest on “Blessed With A Melody,” JJ is also working on his sixth album “Conversations” and a new single “Love Can’t Wait.”

    CASTELLA - Award-winning vocalist Castella debuted on radio in April 2020 with her original song "No Ordinary Love," inspired by her mentor, Darryl Swann. She released her first EP, "Thinking About You," in July 2019, with "No Ordinary Love" reaching #24 on the Smooth Jazz Charts, earning her a "Breakout Artist of 2020" nomination. During the pandemic, she collaborated with producer Jeff Canady, releasing "Let Me Love You," which peaked at #33 on smooth jazz and #1 on the Black Planet Radio Chart in Italy, and "Sleigh Ride," which reached #6 on the smooth jazz Holiday Chart. Her work on "Let Me Love You" led to multiple nominations, including "Artist of the Year." Castella later released "Mojito," reaching #2 on the Urban Influencer R&B/Soul Chart. She continues to produce music, including "So Glad I Met You," which topped charts in the UK and Canada, and a remix by Tom Glide that also reached #1 on the UK Soul Breakers Chart.

    Vivian Sessions - Vivian Sessoms emphasizes the importance of genuine emotion in music, stating, “You have to feel something about what you're saying if you want anyone else to buy into it.” Growing up in Harlem, surrounded by music from her mother, a session singer, and her father, a flautist, she developed a passion for music early on. By age nine, she was doing voiceovers and auditioning for Broadway while receiving classical training. At 14, she began composing her own music. Touring with pianist Ryuichi Sakamoto opened her to new sounds and refined her craft, as she learned from talented musicians and pushed herself to excel as a performer.
