Learn how animals use sounds to survive and communicate in lush, but threatened environments. Experience basic acoustics through interactive activities and incredible slow-motion footage of pulsating musical instruments, vibrating vocal cords, and slobbering “raspberries.” With Global Soundscapes’ unique format—combining full-dome imagery, surround sound, and live presentation—you’ll hear the Earth in a whole new way.

Bingo Night
Come join us during this fun hour of BINGO. This is an opportunity to make friends and engage with others in your community! Invite friends and family, everyone is welcome!
Bike Pensacola's May Slow Ride
Join Bike Pensacola for the most popular bike ride in town—the Slow Ride! Each month we explore the quiet, scenic streets of Pensacola's many historic neighborhoods for a fun and leisurely ride among friends. For May our host and cosponsor is the North Hill Preservation Association, which works diligently to preserve the historic character of North Hill--one of Pensacola's most amazing neighborhoods.
Because most cyclists are “self taught,” each month we offer information about bicycle laws, safety tips, and addressing different bicycling skills that will help keep rides safe and enjoyable. There is no charge for the ride and no registration required.
The ride will be about one hour and ten minutes long, at a casual pace. Nobody will be “dropped” or left behind. Children ages 10 - 16 must be accompanied by an adult; no kids under 10 on their own bicycle. Cyclists under 16 must wear a helmet by law; ages 16 and up helmets are recommended but are not required by law. And we will enjoy a ride escort by officers of the Pensacola Police Department.
A few more things:
--no dogs or other pets--they're not covered by our insurance
--bicycles only please, and only self-propelled or electric-assist; trikes are fine; elliptigos are fine;
--no bicycles with training wheels
--no Segways, skateboards, scooters, or gasoline-powered motorized bicycles; again, bicycles only
--no alcohol consumption during the Ride
--please make certain that both you and your bicycle are healthy and well-maintained so that you can safely ride about six miles. Please do not attempt the Ride if you cannot ride six miles at 6 mph.
For much more information about the Slow Ride please visit Bike Pensacola on Facebook or call 850-687-9968 or bike@pensacolacan.org
Art in the Garden
Join the Master Gardener Volunteers in the demonstration garden as we enjoy a variety of artists that will be showcasing their talents. It will be a morning of painters, pottery, glass blowing, and so much more. There will be special features of ephemeral art and bonsai development. Enjoy the natural beauty of the gardens and talk with volunteers about plants and practices.
Some artists may have items for sale.
Amazing Grace
The Choral Society of Pensacola invites music lovers to experience the beauty of sacred music in a sacred space.
Major works on the program are the cantata "I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes" by Adolphus Hailstork and excerpts from the oratorio "Elijah" by Felix Mendelssohn, both featuring tenor Christopher Moore.
The concert also includes
• “Amazing Grace!” (arr. Mack Wilberg)
• “Salvation is Created” (Pavel Chesnokov)
• “My God is a Rock” and “Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal” (arranged by Robert Shaw and Alice Parker)
• “If Ye Love Me” (Thomas Tallis) and
• “Total Praise” (Smallwood, arr. Patrick Barrett and Doreen Rao)
Artistic director Peter Steenblik and treble ensemble director Isabelle Peterson will conduct the 80-voice chorus, along with pianist Isabelle Areola, organist Hyunjoo Kim, and members of McGuire’s Pipe Band, representing the Pensacola Celtic Society.
Peter will post a preview on the Choral Society’s YouTube channel on Monday, May 5.
