The Pensacola Early Music Consort is again a proud participant in the 2024 Foo Foo Festival. Join us on November 10th as we explore the incorporation of the country’s first Sub-sub Great Bass - the lowest pitched recorder at a low C32 hertz.

What is that you ask?? Come to learn and hear while enjoying new sounds added to old world music. Our repertoire will include Mediaeval, Renaissance, Baroque and modern compositions for early instruments.

The 14-memberPensacola Early Music Consort will form the core of this celebration, with a few guest musicians to form a large renaissance orchestra including recorder, krummhorns, strings, sackbuts and percussion.

On Sunday, October 27th at 5:00 p.m., the Christ Church choir will sing Choral Evensong, one of the oldest and most beautiful liturgies in the Anglican tradition.

Music will include Anglican Chant; the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in B minor by T. Tertius Noble; Responses by Richard Barnard; the Kyrie from Messe solennelle by Louis Vierne; and congregational hymns.

Choral Evensong will be followed by a festive reception.

Mountainfilm on Tour brings a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado. The Tour’s visit to Pensacola at the Pensacola Little Theatre is Saturday November 16, 2024, with doors opening at 6 pm and films beginning at 7 pm. The Western Front: Christmas 1914. Out of the violence of World War I, a silence, then a song. A German soldier steps into No Man’s Land singing “Stille Nacht.” Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music, and peace. All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 tells the true story of the first Christmas Eve of World War I, when soldiers across the Western Front laid down their weapons to celebrate Christmas together. Based on the first hand accounts of soldiers who lived it, this beautifully staged play with music brings these stories to life with traditional carols and patriotic songs, sung a cappella by a cast of 12, celebrating the unique way that the holiday season can bring us all together.

In Every Brilliant Thing, a young boy attempts to ease his mother's depression by creating a list of all the best things in the world worth living for. This heart wrenching and at times hilarious one-man play is based on true and untrue stories and told with the help of the audience. Little Shop of Horrors follows meek plant store attendant Seymour, his co-worker crush Audrey, her sadistic dentist boyfriend and the man-eating plant that threatens them and the world as we know it. This horror comedy rock musical is in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, "Skid Row (Downtown)", "Somewhere That's Green", and "Suddenly, Seymour".
