  • Choral Evensong for Trinity Sunday
    26 May 2024 – 5:00 p.m.
    Organ Prelude-Recital – 4:30 p.m.

    On Sunday, May 26th at 5:00 p.m., the Christ Church choir and guests will sing Choral Evensong, one of the oldest and most beautiful liturgies in the Anglican tradition, in observance of Trinity Sunday. Evensong will feature Anglican Chant, the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in B Minor by T. Tertius Noble, Responses by John Barnard, “In the year King Uzziah died” by David McK. Williams, and congregational hymns.
    Choral Evensong will be preceded by a half-hour organ recital prelude by Christ Church Director of Music Ministry Dr. Jason Hobratschk. The recital program will feature the Prelude and Fugue in C Minor, Op. 37, no. 1, by Felix Mendelssohn and the Prelude, Fugue & Variation, Op. 18, by César Franck.
    A festive reception will follow Choral Evensong.

  • Come along on a walking tour of downtown Pensacola to see how trees bring a range of environmental and quality-of-life benefits to the community, including improving water quality and providing shade. Our tour leader is University of Florida-Milton horticulture professor Dr. Mack Thetford, who has spent nearly three decades studying the performance of trees and landscape plantings in communities.

    We’ll see how trees can be smartly placed in even the most dense urban environments, and both good and bad tree plantings that offer lessons for better accommodation of trees as Pensacola grows. The tour will visit the downtown, Seville and Aragon neighborhoods and will visit trees ranging in age from one to over one hundred years old.

    The tour is free, but registration is required in order to ensure a quality experience. The tour meeting spot is in a convenient location at the edge of downtown and will be shared upon registration. To reserve your spot please email christian@healthygulf.org or call (850) 687-9968.

  • Join United Way of West Florida and help celebrate 100 years of service to the community and watch the 150th Kentucky Derby.

    This event is a fundraiser for United Way of West Florida. Funds raised at this event will help go back to our community through our Community Investment process.

    Since 1924, United Way of West Florida has fought for the health, education, and financial stability of every citizen in our community. We do this by working collaboratively with hundreds of companies, thousands of community members, local governments, and local nonprofit agencies. Working together is the best way to improve lives and build a stronger community and we hope to do that on May 4th, 2024 at the Glitz & Gallop Gala, our 100th Celebration.

    Gala tickets are $100 per person, which includes 2 drink tickets and 10 betting tickets to be used at our Parade of Prizes table and to bet on horse races.

    The Gala features heavy hors d'oeuvres and live music from the String Farm Band.

    Prizes will be awarded for the Best-In-Show fashion show contest and the Winner's Circle racehorse winners. Horses can be purchased for $50, and additional betting tickets are available at $1 per ticket. Bourbon Pull station tickets are available for $25 and are limited to the number of bottles donated. 50/50 tickets are available at the event for $1.

  • The Pensacola Habitat Women Build Yard Sale is one of the many fundraising efforts our Women Build volunteers host to help raise funds towards their total goal of $150,000.

    All of the proceeds from the event will benefit Pensacola Habitat for Humanity and the families they serve.

  • Join Francis M. Weston Audubon Society Thursday, April 25, 2024, 7:00-9:00 p.m., as they welcome Heather Wolf, author of “Find More Birds--111 Find More Birds: 111 Surprising Ways to Spot Birds Wherever You Are”.

    Heather, who began her birding journey right here in Pensacola, is a Brooklyn-based birder, author, photographer, and educator. She works with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology as a web developer, teaches birding classes at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and gives walks and talks for various organizations in New York City and beyond.

    The presentation will be held at Pensacola State College, 1000 College Blvd, in the Baroco Science Center-West, Bldg. 21, Room 2142, Pensacola, FL 32504. The entrance to the meeting room is located across the breezeway from the Planetarium.
