    It wouldn't be a proper send off for fall break without an appearance by some of our Animal Ambassadors. Stop by, but please note, space for the Creature Feature is available on a first come, first served basis.
  • Night of Cyber returns in recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week. Join the Center for Cybersecurity team on October 10th from 5:30 to 7:30 at the University of West Florida Commons Auditorium (Bldg. 22). The evening will include a cybersecurity careers panel with industry experts, an overview of the cybersecurity programs at UWF, information on the GenCyber summer camps, pizza, refreshments, and prizes! Registration is not required but recommended.

  • The University of West Florida Department of Theatre presents “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder. Performances will be held October 27, 29, 30 and November 3-4 with shows at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday and 11:00 a.m. on Monday. All performances will take place in the Mainstage Theatre of the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Building 82, on the Pensacola Campus.

    Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town continues to leave audiences awestruck with wonder and a shared sense of our humanity. Guided by an amiable stage manager, the theatre becomes turn-of-the-century Grover’s Corners, where the occurrences of everyday life reveal universal truths about community and love, life, and death.

    General admission ticket prices are $20 per person for adults, $16 per person for senior citizens and active military, $14 per person for non-UWF students and UWF faculty and staff, and $7 for high school students. UWF students are admitted free with their Nautilus cards.

  • Join the University of West Florida's Military and Veterans Resource Center for a free comedy show in celebration of Veterans Week on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 4 p.m. The GIs of Comedy is a comedic troupe of troops who have taken their love of their country and brought it to the comedy stage. Quite simply, as the motto says, they are: Standup Comics. All Veterans. Still Serving Their Country. One Joke At A Time.
  • Join the West Florida Railroad Museum for Winter Fest. There will be children’s activities, including train rides and Santa will be there from 11am to 2pm.
  • Ocean Hour is a nonprofit, volunteer led organization based in the Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in Northwest Florida. Ocean Hour volunteers meet to clean up trash and debris near local waterways. Current sign-in time is 8:45 AM with cleanup lasting until 10 unless otherwise noted. All ages are welcome. All supplies are provided. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring your own refillable water bottle and sun protection.

  • Dr. Judy Bense will describe the fortifications built by the Spanish in West Florida. They will be compared to the total fortifications built at different locations built by the Spanish in the Southeast between 1562 and 1763. The fortifications will be described and the role they played in the Spanish approach to the Southeast and its indigenous populations along with Spanish colonial policy.

    Dr. Judy Bense founded the Anthropology and Archaeology programs at the University of West Florida during her 40-year tenure including the Anthropology Department, Archaeology Institute, the Florida Public Archaeology Network and served as the UWF president from 2008 to 2017.

    She has written a book on the Spanish presidios in West Florida published in 2022. Bense also chairs the Florida Historical Commission and has been inducted into the Florida Women’s Hall of Fame.
