Inspired by true events from 1959, as the Civil Rights movement is brewing, a segregationist State Senator and a no-nonsense State Librarian clash over the content of a children’s book. Meanwhile, a reunion of childhood friends — an African American man and a woman of white privilege — provides a private counterpoint to the public events swirling in the state capital. Political foes, star-crossed lovers, and one feisty children’s author inhabit a Deep South of the imagination that brims with humor, heartbreak, and hope.

We're eagerly looking forward to welcoming Kenneth Jones, the celebrated author of Alabama Story, as our guest. Our audiences can anticipate a series of captivating talkbacks during opening weekend, including a special evening featuring Kenneth Jones alongside the remarkable banned book author and activist Nic Stone.

Studio400 productions are intended for mature audiences.

Festival at historic Milton railroad depot. There will be kids activities, food trucks, kiddie train rides, model railroad displays, and historic railroading memorabilia.

The University of West Florida Dr. Grier Williams School of Music will present the Symphonic Band in concert on Sunday, October 15 at 3:30 p.m. The concert will be held downtown Pensacola at Museum Plaza.

Under the direction of Dr. Steven Sudduth, this program will include works by Frank Ticheli and Clifton Williams and an arrangement of “America, the Beautiful” by Samuel Augustus Ward with vocal soloist.

The Symphonic Band is committed to performing the finest wind band repertoire and is open to all UWF students with prior experience on an instrument. Students in the Symphonic Band are enrolled in numerous majors and minors across the UWF campus.

Youre invited to the 8th annual fall Navy Point Arts & Crafts fair.

The original fair started with a handful of local art and craft vendors and has grown. We now have 60 vendors scheduled. This fall event will spotlight The Joy Committee, an all-volunteer dog rescue group.

Pensacola Camellia Society will be there with plants for sale and information on how to care for camellias in NW Florida.

There will be a variety of arts and craft vendors including food by Kip’s Dogs and an ice cream truck.

Join us on Thursday, Nov. 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the 11th Annual Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation's Wine Walkabout at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Destin. Enjoy tasting stations, visit with vintners from exclusive wineries, live music, wall of wine pull, silent auction, raffle, hors d'oeuvres by Ruth's Chris, + more. An all-vintner dinner will follow the walkabout (for an additional cost). Proceeds benefit MKAF and its ArtsReach education initiatives throughout the community.

A celebration of art, food and family fun, it is staged in the MKAF Cultural Arts Village in Destin. Stroll outdoor tents Saturday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) to browse original artwork by more than 100 premier artists from across the United States. Enjoy artist demos, live music, creative children’s activities, street performers, food truck fare, beer & wine garden and more.
