The Profession and Professionalism: In honor of Judge C. Roger Vinson
The C. Roger Vinson American Inn of Court, the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Foundation and the Northwest Florida Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, in partnership with Ballinger Publishing and the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, will host The Profession and Professionalism: In honor of Judge C. Roger Vinson on Friday December 1, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. on the fifth floor of the United State Courthouse, located at 1 North Palafox Street, Pensacola, FL 32502. This no-cost exploratory seminar is targeted to the practitioner and jurist alike to solidify and exemplify fidelity to the profession and position. The seminar will be presented by attorney Bryan Aylstock, U.S. Magistrate Judge G. Miles Davis, attorney Roy Kinsey and retired U.S. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth M. Timothy and moderated by WEAR ABC3 News Anchor/Public Affairs Manager Sue Straughn.
“Unlike a seminar revealing raw data, this event will be inspiring and uplifting for the lawyer, the public servant, the jurist, the professional and many others,” said Circuit Judge Stephen A. Pitre. “Judge Vinson channeled so many great attributes and qualities, both as a person and as a professional. This is a vivid testimonial with the take away to inspire everyone to higher ideals and concrete steps to lead the way.”
The public is also invited to attend this event honoring Judge Vinson and his legacy, which will be followed by a catered social. Participating attorneys will earn 1.5 hours of Continuing Legal Education credits featuring the Florida Rules of Professional Conduct, Code of Conduct for United States Judges, and principals of conduct of historical origins. Seating is limited and advance registration is required at https://form.jotform.com/ESRBA/Vinson. All attendees must be screened prior to entering the courthouse.
