Engaging Communities in Saipan with Archaeology
This summer, researchers searched for, investigated, and documented remains of the World War II Battle for Saipan’s underwater battlefield, including aircraft and amphibious vehicles. FPAN staff served as leads on the project for citizen science and public engagement. Mike Thomin will discuss the roles that the FPAN team played in terrestrial and maritime archaeology.

Speaker: Mike Thomin, Florida Public Archaeology Network: Mike is the manager of
the Florida Public Archaeology Network’s Destination Archaeology Resource Center and a Faculty Research Associate at UWF. Mike has an M.A. in history/public history.
