JUMP - 7th Annual Japan-US Military Program

The Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida (JASNWFL) presents the seventh annual Japan-U.S. Military Program, or JUMP, on Saturday, Oct. 23 at the National Naval Aviation Museum.

From 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., visitors can browse “reunion” tables of memorabilia from U.S. bases in Japan.

The program will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. with the theme “U.S.-Japan Cooperative Strategy for Ensuring Peace & Security.” Program speakers include (in order of speaking) Rear Admiral Kyle Cozad, USN (Ret), President & CEO, Naval Aviation Museum Foundation; Dr. Satohito Akimoto, Director of JUMP and Chairman & President, Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA; Major General Hiroyuki Sugai, Defense & Air Attaché at the Embassy of Japan, Washington, D.C.; Rear Admiral James D. “Jamie” Kelly, USN (Ret), Former Commander, Naval Forces Japan (CNFJ); The Honorable Kazuhiro Nakai, Consul General, Consulate General of Japan in Miami; Mr. Peter Kelley, President, National Association of Japan-America Societies.

A reception with beverage and bento box will follow at the museum's USS Cabot flight deck until 4:00 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required, and a valid military ID is needed to enter NAS Pensacola. For more details or to coordinate an escort for non-military attendees, email info@jasnwfl.org. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available on the JASNWFL Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/events/965242517534599/

Launched in 2015, JUMP is a collaborative effort between Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA, the Embassy of Japan in the United States and the National Association of Japan-America Societies. By building relationships and providing opportunities for service members to engage with each other, JUMP provides a powerful foundation for sustaining the solid alliance and relationship that exists between the U.S. and Japan.
