How vulnerable is your neighborhood to climate change?

How vulnerable is your neighborhood to climate change?
Have you ever wondered how vulnerable your neighborhood is to climate impacts like higher temperatures, stronger storms and sea level rise? Join us as we learn how to use the Climate Vulnerability Index to assess the climate risk in your neighborhood, on issues ranging from environment and infrastructure to health and the economy.
This online tool breaks down climate vulnerability for each US county and ranks them. Importantly, this tool also includes demographic data, so users can see how certain communities are affected more than others, particularly communities of lower socioeconomic status. Our presenter is Bob Teague, a Pensacola-based Climate Reality Project leader who has been trained to communicate the science of climate change to diverse communities. Bob is a native of northwest Florida, professional musician and longtime supporter of environmental causes.
An additional portion of the event will feature a comparison of the climate and environment platforms of the two major candidates for president: Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
This event is part of a regular presentation series on environmental issues sponsored by 350 Pensacola. Since 2010, 350 Pensacola has worked for climate education and action as the only climate-focused organization in northwest Florida. For more information: 350pensacola@gmail.com
