Evidence for Climate Change In the Western Antarctic Peninsula: Global Implications, Adaptation, Mitigation and Resiliency

Tremblay and her team trekked into Antarctica’s remote Dry Valleys to take rock samples and record the weather, temperature and atmospheric conditions at a number of sites. The rock samples they collected are being shipped to Tremblay’s lab at Purdue, in cold storage on a ship. Once arrived, she will run the chemical analyses and more detailed research. Evidence for Climate Change In the Western Antarctic Peninsula: Global Implications, Adaptation, Mitigation and Resiliency

Join Dr. Wade Jeffrey for a virtual tour to the rapidly-changing continent of Antarctica. Dr. Jeffrey is a Distinguished University Professor and Director of the Center for Environmental Diagnostics and Bioremediation at the University of West Florida.

He has been conducting research in Antarctica for over 40 years and seen many changes first hand. His work also has taken him to several other “extreme environments” affected by climate change. These rare environments are integrated as we search for patterns in and solutions to our changing climate.
