  • Gulf Coast Diplomacy will host its Annual Meeting and Party on May 8, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Odd Colony Brewing Company, celebrating the organization's significant contributions to international diplomacy in Northwest Florida.

    Attendees will enjoy live music by Arturo Guitarrista, hors d'oeuvres, and networking opportunities while learning about Gulf Coast Diplomacy's ongoing efforts to promote cultural exchange and strengthen international relationships in the region. With over 50 years of musical fusion, from Spanish roots and New York barrios to Tejano culture and Middle Eastern influences, Arturo is truly a global sound.

    This gathering will highlight the organization's impact on fostering cross-cultural understanding and its plans for future initiatives. The event is free to members and $25 for non-members. Prospective members are invited to attend to celebrate the power of global connection and learn about how they can help chart new paths for international diplomacy in Northwest Florida.

    ABOUT GULF COAST DIPLOMACY - Citizen diplomacy is the concept that individuals have the right to affect foreign relations "one handshake at a time." Gulf Coast Diplomacy is a non-partisan, nonprofit organization facilitating and strengthening connection, collaboration, and fellowship between the people of the Gulf Coast and the global community through exchanges, education, and hospitality.


  • We will learn about self-reliance and emergency preparedness from community organizations and local experts. Discussions will include 72-hour Survival Kits, Coping with Disasters, Water Purification, Shelters/Sheltering in Place and MUCH more! We will be participating in a blood drive with One Blood. Local fire department will be there with one of their trucks and a discussion geared towards kids about safety and rescue. We have books, donated by Santa Rosa County that will be free of charge. This event is Free.

  • Open House at the UWF Historic Trust is on May 10th from 10am-2pm. All visitors to the site will enjoy FREE ADMISSION to all of the UWF Historic Trust museums and downtown sites including the Pensacola Museum of Art, Pensacola Museum of History, Pensacola Children's Museum and Historic Pensacola Village. Living history actors will share information and memorabilia from different periods of history for visitors of all ages. Local vendors, organizations and agencies will also be in attendance. Site tours and curatorial information sessions will also be available on site.

  • Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) is thrilled to welcome Lemony Snicket, aka Daniel Handler, renowned author of “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” to the exceptional NWF READS program.

    The community is invited to attend when he takes the stage on April 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mainstage Theater at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center. This free community event offers a unique opportunity to meet Lemony Snicket, with a book signing to follow. Priority signing access will be granted to the first 75 attendees with books available to purchase.

John will discuss how the food and media can tell the stories of our region’s distinct culture and identity. It’s the perfect start to a series that’s all about celebrating what makes this region such an extraordinary place to call home.
