  • The beautiful sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Pensacola provides the stunning setting for the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra's annual celebration of Mozart! This chamber orchestra concert features Hedi Salanki-Rubardt and Blake Riley as soloists for the composer’s Concerto for Two Pianos. The program also includes his Symphony No. 39, one of Mozart’s final masterworks. Join the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for Gustav Holst’s The Planets, evoking the astrological characterizations of our celestial neighbors. From the romantic lyricism of “Venus” to the golden song of “Jupiter,” the massive seven-movement suite spans a range of emotions. The program also includes Sukkot Through Orion’s Nebula by contemporary composer James Lee III, and Claude Debussy’s The Joyful Island, depicting a merry party arriving on the island known as the birthplace of Venus.

  • Dress up or dress down for this annual celebration of Ludwig van Beethoven, under the baton of guest conductor Laura Jackson. This rousing Pensacola Symphony Orchestra program features the composer’s Fifth Symphony along with Gioachino Rossini’s Overture to Barber of Seville and Jimmy López Bellido’s Fiesta! Four Pop Dances for Orchestra. Ray Ushikubo joins the orchestra as soloist on piano for Felix Mendelssohn’s First Piano Concerto and violin for Camille Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso.

  • Join the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for an exploration of the American music tradition, featuring Appalachian Spring from the “Dean of American Composers” Aaron Copland. With its open and pioneering depiction of the American idyll, Appalachian Spring is beloved for its folk melodies, including the Shaker tune “Simple Gifts.” The program also features Leonard Bernstein’s Serenade (after Plato’s Symposium), and contemporary composer Jim Stephenson joins us from the stage to discuss his Second Symphony, “Voices,” written in memory of his mother.

  • Under the baton of Maestro Peter Rubardt, the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra’s 99th season commences with a pairing for star-crossed lovers — Sergei Prokofiev’s Suite from Romeo and Juliet and Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. The two hours’ traffic of our stage also features the unforgettable melodies of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto, a rapturous and powerful musical triumph, featuring soloist Joyce Yang.

  • Join the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for a special event for all ages! Experience our annual Music for Families concert, featuring Peter & the Wolf, the story of a brave young boy and his lively animal friends — a bird, a duck and a cat — who are brought to life by the instruments of the orchestra. This symphonic folk tale, by composer Sergei Prokofiev, has introduced generations to orchestral music. The one-hour concert will be followed by activities, including an instrument petting zoo with our musicians.

    Join us to premiere "Senior Xtremers," a film about seasoned thrill seekers defying all the stereotypes of aging! This film is presented by Dave Barnes & Mike Cotton at Phineas Phogg's in Seville Quarter Sunday, Sept. 22. Doors open at 2 pm with film starting at 3 pm. Tickets are $10 in advance; $15 at the door and a portion of proceeds benefit programs and services of Council on Aging of West Florida.

    Premiere will include a bonus short film screening of "Beyond the Interstate." Food and drink available for purchase.
