  • Join us for this adults-only, fun-filled trip around the solar system as we discuss the bizarre family trees of the Greek and Roman gods. Why did Zeus have so many girlfriends? Why were there so many animals involved? How was Aphrodite born in a seashell? Learn the answer to all of these questions (and more) as we dive into what was really going on in classical mythology.

    Our Planetarium is an inflatable dome. Guests sit on cushions on the floor of the planetarium to view the show. Due to size, space is limited to 25 patrons at a time. Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended for this reason. On show nights, please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled showing. In case of no-shows/late shows: reserved spots will be released at show time to make space for the next party.

    Shows begin at 6 and 7 pm and last approximately 45 minutes.

    Seating is limited. We encourage purchasing your tickets in advance, as this is a first come, first served event. Please call 850-664-1261, stop by the Science Center, or use our online ticketing option to purchase your tickets.

  • Friends of the Pensacola State Parks are holding a nature-inspired Heron Trot 5K run honoring Veterans and Active-Duty Military at Big Lagoon State Park on November 11th. The race is open to all.

    Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a registered adult. Check in is at 6am with the race start at 7.

    To receive a patriotic Heron Trot shirt, register before Oct 25.

  • Local schools preparing for the annual BEST (Boosting Engineering Science and Robotics) competition which will occur on November 4th, at the University of West Florida. Over twenty teams from Alabama to Orlando will be competing in this athletic-like, multi-faceted, robotics event.
  • This pediatric cancer benefit show will be an unparalleled combination of rock and roll, choral music, and dance performances that place a special spotlight on the music of the foundation’s founders: Imagine Dragons.

    Bringing an extremely unique concert experience to downtown Pensacola, it will consist of a high-energy set from the band Goldmine that transports audiences back to the golden era of classic rock, a beautifully curated UWF Singers set of diverse choral pieces under the direction of Dr. Peter Steenblik, and a dance performance from the studio of Mixon Magic Performing Arts.

    Together, we will harness the immense power of music to help families in their fight against pediatric cancer!
  • Ocean Hour is a nonprofit, volunteer led organization based in the Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in Northwest Florida. Ocean Hour volunteers meet to clean up trash and debris near local waterways. Current sign-in time is 8:45 AM with cleanup lasting until 10 AM unless otherwise noted. All ages are welcome. All supplies are provided. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring your own refillable water bottle and sun protection.

    Our presenter is Maralee Sartain, CSP, ASP, a health and safety trainer who is leading heat stress trainings across the Pensacola-area.

  • The University of West Florida Dr. Grier Williams School of Music will present the UWF Singers in their “Filled with Joy” concert. The performance will be held on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rolfs Music Hall at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts on the UWF Pensacola campus.
