  • Taste of Gulf Breeze is an exciting, competitive, culinary adventure! Area restaurants and food and beverage providers will tempt you with culinary delights as you sample from vendors and food trucks throughout the night. You'll get to explore the field of forensic science, play with fun technology, and compete for some awesome prizes while you figure out whodunit. Was it the the museum caretaker, in the reptile room, with the Bunsen burner? Or perhaps the night watchman, in the exhibit hall, with the scalpel? Bonus points (and prizes) to those who come in their best spy, sleuth, detective, or Clue-themed costumes...Scooby Gang, anyone?

    The Women in Science Conference is a celebration of women in all STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) professions. Hosted by the Emerald Coast Science Center and BAE Systems, the evening will consist of inspirational presentations from professional women in STEM careers followed by a panel discussion where the audience can engage with speakers and ask questions. Proceeds benefit the Girls Empowered with Math and Science (GEMS) program held by the Emerald Coast Science Center.

    All ages are welcome, especially middle school and high school students looking to discover careers in STEM. Guests will have a chance to mingle with the speakers and other guest professionals. This is an excellent event for all those looking to explore STEM opportunities right here in Okaloosa! Light refreshments provided.

    This year, our speakers will discuss what inspired them to pursue their careers and what makes them so rewarding, how they have overcome challenges as women in STEM, and offer advice to young women interested in STEM careers and educations. All speakers will be a part of a panel discussion toward the end of the event to take questions from the audience. This is an excellent event for students of all ages and genders to receive firsthand advice and information from local STEM professionals.

  • Discover the sizzling stories behind the constellations in this planetarium event for adults (21+). Explore Egyptian legends and myths as you take a trip through the cosmos during the ultimate planetarium adventure.

    Come discover what the stars looked like thousands of years ago to the astronomers of ancient Egypt. This adults-only show will tour the solar system while diving deep into the scandalous stories of the Egyptian gods: Osiris, Isis, Horus, Set, and many more! Learn the ancient secrets of sexuality - which god was the most thirsty, which goddess was the most bloodthirsty, and how Queen Cleopatra VII maintained her rosy glow. This show will end with a magical display of Egyptian constellations, and an unforgettable story about eating your leafy greens.

    Our Planetarium is an inflatable dome. Guests sit on cushions on the floor of the planetarium to view the show. Due to size, space is limited to 25 patrons at a time. Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended for this reason. On show nights, please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled showing. In case of no-shows/late shows: reserved spots will be released at show time to make space for the next party.

    Shows begin at 6 and 7 pm and last approximately 45 minutes.

    Seating is limited. We encourage purchasing your tickets in advance, as this is a first come, first served event. Please call 850-664-1261, stop by the Science Center, or use our online ticketing option to purchase your tickets.

  • The 2023 Constitution Day event will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in the UWF Rolf's Music Hall, Building 82, at 6 pm. Constitution Day 2023 will feature Dr. Keith Whittington, the William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Politics in the Department of Politics at Princeton University. Join us as Dr. Whittington presents, “Is the Electoral College a Constitutional Crisis Waiting to Happen?”

  • The day includes breakfast and lunch, a Deja Vu Market, Silent Auction, Mullet Toss, Music, Raffle and 50/50 drawing. Funds raised are used to "Bring Out the Best in Kids." The Optimist Club works closely with the Elberta, AL schools, providing reading to kindergarten and first grade students and scholarships to the HOBY Leadership Conference, the Flight Academy at NAS Pensacola and college scholarships. They also recognize teachers of the year as well as law enforcement personnel. The club sponsors Breakfast with Santa, Easter Egg Hunt and a Fishing Rodeo at no cost to the boys and girls and they provide food for the Baldwin County Special Olympics. They also support other community organizations such as the Lillian Recreational Park and the Lillian Perdido Bay Library.
  • Join Autism Pensacola for our Annual Fundraising Event, Steps for Autism, on Saturday, September 23 at the Pensacola State College Walking Track. This family-friendly community fundraiser will feature local vendors, food trucks, inflatables, face painting, a balloon artist, and more! Items will be available for raffle to help raise funds for the programs and services of Autism Pensacola.
  • The Art Gallery at the University of West Florida is pleased to present Roll Call: the 2023 Art and Design Faculty Exhibition. For this biennial show, instructors in the department have utilized the gallery as a pedagogical springboard to exhibit recent research and artwork. On display are drawings, paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, digital art, and site-specific installation. This exhibition plays a crucial role in the experience of visual culture for students, staff, faculty, and the greater northwest Florida community. It accomplishes this goal by showcasing engaging concepts and ideas from nationally recognized artists who communicate their passion and commitment to the arts through innovative teaching and studio practice.
