Community Health Northwest Florida test sites open Friday

Given the change in projected path of Hurricane Delta, Brownsville Community Center and Cantonment Pediatrics will be OPEN Friday for drive-through testing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting. No pre-screening required.

Rapid testing is available to individuals experiencing Covid-19 symptoms by appointment only.

These patients must call the Ascension Sacred Heart call center at 850-746-2684 to be pre-screened and scheduled.

254 total deaths in Escambia

As of 2 p.m., Escambia County has had 12,588 positive COVID-19 cases. The total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Escambia County residents is 254 individuals.

Today, data reported to the Agency for Health Care Administration shows that the number of COVID-19 positive patients that are currently hospitalized is down more than 70% since July. As posted on the Agency for Health Care Administration’s hospitalization dashboard at 11:45 a.m., there are 2,142 current hospitalizations with a primary diagnosis of COVID-19.

Positive test results: Yesterday’s statewide positivity rate for new cases is 4.57 percent. Yesterday was the fifty-sixth straight day below 10 percent positivity of new cases.

247 dead in Escambia

As of 2 p.m., Escambia County has had 12,551 positive COVID-19 cases.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Escambia County residents is 247 individuals.

FDOH Update

Today, data reported to the Agency for Health Care Administration shows that the number of COVID-19 positive patients that are currently hospitalized is down more than 70%  since July. As posted on the Agency for Health Care Administration’s hospitalization dashboard at 12 p.m., there are 2,120 current hospitalizations with a primary diagnosis of COVID-19.

Positive test results: Yesterday’s statewide positivity rate for new cases is 4.15%. Yesterday was the fifty-fifth straight day below 10% positivity of new cases.

Tuesday, Oct. 6

FDOH Update

Hospitalizations: Today, data reported to the Agency for Health Care Administration shows that the number of COVID-19 positive patients that are currently hospitalized is down more than 70% since July.

As posted on the Agency for Health Care Administration’s hospitalization dashboard at 11:15 a.m., there are 2,146 current hospitalizations with a primary diagnosis of COVID-19.

Positive test results: Yesterday’s statewide positivity rate for new cases is 5.26%. Yesterday was the fifty-fourth straight day below 10% positivity of new cases.

Monday, Oct. 5

Escambia death toll at 243

As of 2 p.m., Escambia County has had 12,494 positive COVID-19 cases. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Escambia County residents is 243 individuals.

Community Health’s mobile testing schedule

Here is Community Health Northwest Florida’s Covid-19 mobile testing schedule, effective immediately:

  •  Drive-through testing Monday – Friday from 9AM-1PM at 2 locations: Brownsville Community Center at 3200 W. De Soto Street, Pensacola; and Community Health Northwest Florida Cantonment Pediatrics at 470 S. HWY 29, Cantonment.
  • No pre-screening required, all ages, bring photo id and insurance card if insured. 

Covid-19 rapid testing is now available in partnership with Ascension Sacred Heart by appointment only for Escambia County residents 3 months and older who are experiencing Covid symptoms.
Patients desiring rapid testing must call the Ascension Sacred Heart call center at (850) 746-2684 to be pre-screened and scheduled (if eligible).

41 more deaths in Florida

From the state department of health:

Sunday’s statewide positivity rate for new cases is 3.93 percent.  

Sunday was the 53rd straight day below 10 percent positivity of new cases.  

Sunday test results for more than 38,800 individuals were reported to DOH.  

As of today, 714,615 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Florida.  

The death toll in Florida is 14,712.

52 days below 10 percent positivity

Saturday’s statewide positivity rate for new cases was 3.74 percent.  

Saturday was the 52nd straight day below 10 percent positivity of new cases.  

As of today, 716,459 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Florida.  

The statewide death toll is 14,671.

Escambia CARES Funding to Support Rapid COVID-19 Testing Partnership 

Beginning Monday, Oct. 5, Escambia County CARES Act funds will be used by Community Health Northwest Florida and Ascension Sacred Heart to offer rapid COVID-19 testing to Escambia County residents. Read more here.

From the state department of health:

Yesterday’s statewide positivity rate for new cases is 3.77 percent.  

Yesterday was the 50th straight day below 10 percent positivity of new cases. 

Yesterday, test results for more than 77,600 individuals were reported to DOH.  

As of today, 711,804 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Florida. The death toll is 14,554.
