There's a day-long event planned for next Wednesday in Pensacola Beach designed to summarize all that's happened in and around the Gulf in the four years since the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The workshop is called Restoring The Gulf - Four Years Later and it's co-sponsored by Earth Ethics and  the Gulf Coast Energy Network. Scientists, researchers, environmental advocates and industry leaders involved in the Gulf of Mexico restoration effort will be speaking and answering questions in a series of seminars at the Hilton Hotel on Pensacola Beach. Mary Gutierrez, the executive director for Earth Ethics says the day will feature a number of speakers involved in local restoration efforts.

The speakers include Keith Wilkins, Director of the Escambia County Community and Environment Department, Sal Nodjomian from the Matrix Design Group, the consultant hired by Okaloosa County, and Jeff Helms the VP from Atkins Global, the Santa Rosa County consultant.

Also making a presentation will be Bill Williams from NCS Governmental Affairs. He'll be presenting a general overview of all restoration efforts around the region.

The day will conclude with a session where anyone can present an idea for a project they would like to see funded with Restore money.

Restoring The Gulf - Four Years Later will be held at the Hilton Hotel on Pensacola Beach on Wednesday, April 30 from 9:30 am until 5 pm. You can learn more and register for the eventat EarthEthics.us.
