Indian Bayou Paddle - FREE
Indian Bayou Paddle - FREE
Celebrate National Estuaries Week (September 18th-25th) with us as we explore Indian Bayou! If you've driven over the Garcon Point Bridge then you've driven over Indian Bayou, but you might not have noticed it! ! Come see the estuary (where salt and fresh water meet) from a new, immersive perspective! We promise it is a much more relaxing experience than sitting in traffic to cross the bridge. We will begin the paddle by travelling upstream until we reach the headwaters, where you will feel like you are paddling through the pines. From there, we will return downstream and continue out to Escambia Bay. We will stop at a small sandy beach for lunch. Please pack a lunch and plenty of water. If you have your own kayak you are welcome to bring it and join us. We are providing a limited number of kayaks and necessary gear thanks to the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department. Participants must be at least 12 years old and capable of paddling independently for the duration of the trip. Any children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
