The Florida House Democratic Caucus has chosen Rep. Ramon Alexander (D-Tallahassee) as its chair for the 2022 and 2024 legislative sessions. In the new role, Alexander will be charged with raising money and recruiting candidates. He says he plans to hit the ground running ahead of the next election cycle.

"My primary focus will be on the 2022 election cycle right now," said Alexander. "Making sure that our candidates are prepared to communicate their message and that we have a coherent strategy going into that election cycle."

Alexander says he will be paying close attention to how the lines are drawn during this year’s redistributing cycle to make sure they follow the Fair Districts amendments passed in 2010. They are meant to allow for districts to be drawn without favoring one political party over another.
