Sunday, Feb. 14

State Adds 5,436 Cases 

The state added a 5,436 additional COVID cases and 96 additional deaths according to Sunday's FDOH report. Of the 96 state deaths, five occurred in local areas: two in Santa Rosa and three in Okaloosa. No additional deaths were reported in Escambia and Walton counties. 

Local numbers:

  • Escambia added 62 cases and has a 8.21% positivity rate
  • Santa Rosa added 55 cases and has a 13.50% positivity rate
  • Okaloosa added 48 cases and has a 9.02% positivity rate
  • Walton added 11 cases and has a 5.38% positivity rate

Saturday, Feb. 13

State Adds 7,515 Cases, 118 Deaths

The state reported 7,515 more positive COVID cases and an additional 118 deaths Saturday. Locally, 12 deaths were reported, eight in Escambia, three in Santa Rosa and one in Okaloosa. No additional deaths reported in Walton County. 

Local numbers:

  • Escambia added 91 cases and has a 6.59% positivity rate
  • Santa Rosa added 52 cases and has an 11.45% positivity rate
  • Okaloosa added 56 cases and has a 9.67% positivity rate
  • Walton added 12 cases and has a 3.56% positivity rate

Friday, Feb. 12

State Adds 7,617 Cases, 190 Deaths

FDOH reported 7,616 cases Friday and an additional 190 deaths. Locally, there were 10 deaths: three in Escambia, one in Santa Rosa, and six in Okaloosa. No additional deaths reported in Walton County. 

Local numbers:

  • Escambia County added 106 cases and has a 6.40% positivity rate
  • Santa Rosa added 82 cases and has a 10.65% positivity rate
  • Okaloosa added 66 cases and has an 8.02% positivity rate
  • Walton added 26 cases and has a 5.65% positivity rate

Thursday, Feb. 11

8,525 Cases Added Statewide, 180 Deaths

The state added 8,525 cases according to FDOH's Thursday's report. An additional 180 deaths were also reported bringing the total statewide deaths to 28,871. Two deaths were reported in Escambia County and no additional deaths reported in Santa Rosa, Okaloosa or Walton counties. 

Local numbers:

  • Escambia County added 152 cases and has a 8.70% positivity rate
  • Santa Rosa added 91 cases and has an 11.96% positivity rate
  • Okaloosa added 91 cases and has an 11.75% positivity rate
  • Walton added 22 cases and has a 4.83% positivity rate

Pharmacy Locations Expanded In 52 Florida Counties

Thursday afternoon, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced an additional 755 pharmacy locations in 52 counties will provide the COVID-19 vaccination. 

Walmart, Sam's Club and Winn-Dixie will now join Publix in pharmacy locations. As of Thursday, select Walmart and Sam's Club locations in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties and select Winn-Dixie locations in Escambia and Okaloosa will be vaccination providers. 

Wednesay, Feb. 10

State Adds 7,537 Cases, 11 Deaths In Escambia County

The state added 7,537 COVID cases according to Wednesday's FDOH report. An additional 165 deaths were also reported. Locally, there were 18 deaths, 11 in Escambia, three in Santa Rosa, two in Okaloosa and two in Walton County. 

Local numbers:

  • Escambia added 124 cases and has a 7.88% positivity rate
  • Santa Rosa added 65 cases and has a 11.28% positivity rate
  • Okaloosa added 79 cases and has a 13.47% positivity rate
  • Walton added 25 cases and has a 9.40% positivity rate

Pensacola VA To Host Drive-Thru COVID Vaccine Feb. 13

The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System's (GCVHCS) Biloxi Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi, and Joint Ambulatory Care Center (JACC) in Pensacola, Florida, are scheduled to host drive-thru COVID-19 vaccinations on Feb. 13.

GCVHCS COVID-19 vaccination prioritization falls in line with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations and VA guidelines, which include Veterans over the age of 65, Veterans in residential behavioral health facilities, caregiver support recipients, Veterans with spinal cord issues and Veterans in long-term care facilities. Using the mass vaccination model used by numerous public health organizations, both the Biloxi and Pensacola facilities will offer COVID-19 vaccinations by appointment only from 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. based on availability

Other high-risk populations that are being added as deemed available through vaccine delivery. Veterans interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccination during the appointment only Biloxi and Pensacola VA facility events are encouraged to register by calling 1-800-296-8872.

Tuesday, Feb. 9

State Adds 7,023 Cases, 19 Deaths Locally

The state added 7,023 COVID cases according to Tuesday's FDOH report. An additional 239 deaths were reported statewide. In local areas, a total of 19 additional deaths were reported: six in Escambia, 12 in Santa Rosa, and one in Walton County. No additional deaths were reported in Okaloosa County. 

  • Escambia added 107 cases and has a 7.45% positivity rate
  • Santa Rosa added 62 cases and has a 13.01% positivity rate
  • Okaloosa added 60 cases and has a 9.31% positivity rate
  • Walton added 31 cases and has a 10.33% positivity rate

Monday, Feb. 8

State Adds 12,361 Cases, 126 Deaths

The state added 12,361 COVID cases and reported an additional 126 deaths in Monday's FDOH report. Locally, there was a slow increase in cases. Only one local death reported, in Okaloosa. No additional deaths reported in Escambia, Santa Rosa or Walton counties. 

Local numbers:

  • Escambia added 85 cases and has a 13.22% positivity rate
  • Santa Rosa added 40 cases and has an 11.95% positivity rate
  • Okaloosa added 41 cases and has an 11.78% positivity rate
  • Walton added 15 cases and has an 8.33% positivity rate

Florida's Vaccination Update

The state has administered 2,710,156 total doses of the COVID vaccine as of Monday.
