The University of West Florida is adding three new programs that will be taught completely online.
Dr. Pam Northrop is the Executive Director of the Innovation Institute and Associate Provost at the University of West Florida. She spoke with WUWF's Bob Barrett about the new programs.
One of the degrees will be a Master of Education with a specialization in reading, another is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurses, and the third is a Doctorate in Education with specializations in curriculum and instruction.
The online classes at UWF are taught by the same faculty that teaches on campus classes. Dr. Northrup says there's a bit of an adjustment and some additional training for those teachers. Online learning is growing not just at UWF but all over the country. Dr. Northrup says online degrees can be more convenient for students who need to work, or nontraditional students looking to change careers.
