In the next installment of our series on the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s assassination, WUWF’s Dave Dunwoody looks at how television news came of age that tragic weekend.

We spoke with Mark Lambert, who teaches each television news, production and history at the University of West Florida. We also include sound from that weekend, illustrating how the TV networks covered the assassination and developments ranging from the expected -- the investigation and state funeral -- to the unexpected--Lee Harvey Oswald's murder on live national television.
