Opening Doors Northwest Florida, Inc. is preparing for its January 22 Point-In-Time count of the area’s homeless people.

With a couple of weeks to go, there’s a need for more volunteers, and this year, their training will include instruction on how to use a new app designed to streamline the process.

The 2018 Point-in-Time count of homeless persons soon will take place in communities across the country.

Conducted on a cold night in January, the annual survey is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development or HUD.
