Our final Studio 400 production is written by David Ives and directed by Maureen McNeill. Performances are May 17-25, 2019. The play begins with Thomas, a playwright, and director, in his audition room. He is casting for his adaptation of the classic, Venus in Fur. He hasn’t been successful and is not enthused about seeing his last actress. She is late and rough around the edges - not the kind of woman who could embody Vanda. But she surprises him. Oddly enough, the actress’ name is Vanda and she wows. As Thomas reads with Vanda, the lines of reality blur and the audience becomes a voyeur in their struggle between sexual submission and dominance. This show contains strong language and sexual content.
